Having lost my mother to ovarian cancer as a young woman, I’ve had an intimate relationship with death and dying for much of my life.
I experienced first hand the process of grief, but was also able to find gratitude for the opportunity to serve my mother in her last days. In her final months, as her death approached and her strength waned, I took on the role of helping her finish things she wanted to resolve before she died.
The gift of being able to accompany her on her journey as she approached her death is one I will always be grateful for, because, ultimately, I found the beauty in that process and felt the grace of being able to serve her in her last days and see her soul take flight in her last hours.
It is my wish to accompany others as they have this experience, walking the path with them as they navigate the challenges, process the grief, and, ultimately, cherish the moments of beauty that are interwoven with the loss.
